I guess the problem started with the windows 22h2 update.
Before that I had the printer/scanner and Solution Center working perfectly over the network.
Since that, impossible to reinstall solution center and the printer does not connect to my laptop.
Only Windows is recognizing the printer --> possible to print but scan is limited to one page through the Web interface.
Even HP Smart does not find the printer on the network.
I already tried the fixed IP, enable the RPC over named pipes.
I was unable to find the RPC in the registry
I am running Windows 11 Home 22H2 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0 on an HP Pavillon Gaming laptop
Thanks for your help

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
This model has never been supported in Windows 11.
I found a review for the model / series dated 2003.
HP Smart does not support printers older than about 2010.
No, I cannot explain why or how the printer was running the defunct Solution Center in Windows 11.
Solution Center version of the full driver printer software would normally have stopped working when Adobe Flash was permanently disabled in 2021.
The printer is supported in Windows 10 with the Windows / Microsoft Built-in Driver.
What to do?
No idea, really, aside from perhaps replacing the printer with a new model that is supported in Windows 11.

Scan? See Section FAQ > How do I use the printer functions with the built-in driver?
Example
Scan documents and photos: Complete scan jobs with a Windows app that works with the built-in driver.
- Windows Fax and Scan: In Windows, search for and open Windows Fax and Scan. Click New Scan, and then select your printer.
- Windows Paint: In Windows, search for and open Paint. Click FileFrom scanner or camera.
- Windows Scan app: In Windows, search for and open the Windows Scan app. If it is not listed, go to Windows Scan (in English) to install it.

Hi,
Thanks Dragon for your answer.
I understand that the printer is not supported anymore (even if still perfectly working).
My problem is more related to the fact that several HP software does not even see the printer on the network.
That is the first step before compatibility.
With 22H2, I understood they change some of the communication rules and/or protocols, and I guess the problem is coming from there because I have second laptop with windows 11 without 22H2 and it still perfectly works (office 6500 and Solution center).
Any idea?
This is more an windows issue than a printer issue.
Thanks again

You are welcome.
None of the following will fix your problem with the broken software.
The comments are simply a wordy response to your question: "Any ideas?"
The HP printer software is not supported in Windows 11.
When Adobe Flash was disabled in January 2021, the main menu of the already outdated (and no longer supported) Solution Center program would no longer open in any version of Windows.
When (before) Adobe Flash was disabled, old "Solution Center" printer software was pulled (removed) from the directories of the older printers where the software had been available.
Yes, the lament does sound like a "broken record" - that is, something that repeats because the recording cannot move past the "break".
The proclamation simply means the software is deemed obsolete and has been judged to be so for a while.
Both obsolete and unsupported means no one is actually looking at the code anymore.
Yes, assuming the full driver is still installed in Programs and Features, any change that triggered the final demise might be something recently changed or added to Windows.
The failure could be due to the printer software being internally corrupted by the loss of a link or a minor change to a single critical instruction.
Internal changes in the structure of the Operating System can also happen without installing any Windows Updates.
Even new printer software can be "damaged" by internal changes in Windows or by installing Windows Updates.
Unless the change is something buried too deep in the Operating System file structure, uninstalling / reinstalling the printer software generally fixes the issue. There are (have been) occasions where it is necessary to reload Windows and then install a fresh copy of the printer software. Everyone universally hates that answer, of course. "Kill the messenger" and all that.
