After updating to Sonoma 14.4.1 on my macbook I cannot print. It won't find my printer and if I enter the IP address it says offline, for forever. I tried to reinstall HP easy start but it won't find my printer either. Is there a solution?

Hi @BastaTX ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are experiencing printer connectivity issues after a software update can be frustrating, but there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Restart Devices: Begin by restarting your printer, Macbook, and router. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
- Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Macbook. Verify the Wi-Fi connection on both devices and make sure they are properly connected.
- Printer Settings: Access the settings menu on your printer to verify that it is set to "online" or "ready" mode. Sometimes, printers can go offline due to various reasons, and manually setting it back online may resolve the issue.
- IP Address: Ensure that the IP address you are entering for the printer is correct. You can find the IP address of your printer by printing a network configuration page or accessing the printer settings menu.
- Printer Driver: Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed on your Macbook. You can download the driver from the HP website or use the HP Easy Start utility to install the correct driver.
- Firewall Settings: Check the firewall settings on your Macbook to ensure that it is not blocking communication with the printer. You may need to add an exception for the printer in your firewall settings.
- Reset Printing System: On your Macbook, you can try resetting the printing system, which removes all printers from the Printers & Scanners preferences. To do this, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click (or Control-click) on the list of printers, and select "Reset printing system." After resetting, you can re-add your printer and try printing again.
