Every so often when I print anything on this printer, which is no longer under warranty and is running on a Windows system that is itself post-support, a dialog box appears asking to install a firmware update, the exact date of which is unknown to me. If I decline the update, it will just appear again the next time I print, again and again and again. If I accept the update, it will end in an error: "Unable to create folder to extract Webpack," originating from a copy of the compression program 7-Zip apparently within the installation program.
Given the printer is no longer under warranty, is there a way to turn off this automatic update, either within HP SMART or elsewhere? Thank you.
