Supplies Status always crashes in HP Utility. My printer is a HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. I'm using macOS Ventura 13.6.3 on a MacBook Pro (2.9 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7). What is the fix?
I know I'm not the only customer with this problem!
Please respond.
Thanks
John Holland
PS: Why isn't Ventura listed in the Operating System Drop Down menu?

Hi @John_Holland,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the frustration you're experiencing with the Supplies Status crashing in HP Utility for your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Update HP Utility: Ensure that you have the latest version of HP Utility installed on your macOS Ventura. You can check for updates in the App Store or download the latest version from the official HP website.
Restart HP Utility: Close HP Utility completely and then reopen it. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor glitches.
Reset Printing System: Resetting the printing system can often resolve communication issues. Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners," right-click on the printer, and choose "Reset printing system." Note that this will remove all printers, so you may need to re-add your printer afterward.
Check for macOS Updates: Ensure that your macOS Ventura is up to date. Sometimes, compatibility issues can be resolved with the latest system updates.
Reinstall the Printer: Remove the printer from your system, restart your computer, and then add the printer again. This can help refresh the printer connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
