I was having issues with my HP printer not connecting to my HP computer. I went to the HP website and there was a Chat option that I initiated. In chatting with that individual they said they could connect me with a tech-support person and ask for my phone number. And then got a phone call from someone indicating they were from HP tech-support and that they would assist me with my connection problem. They connected remotely and indicated I had a Trojan virus and offered to assist in getting rid of it. At that point, I was uncomfortable with this person accessing my computer (although, technically they already had access) and indicated that I would take care of the virus myself. They requested I close the session on my computer and then hung up the phone. Although I initiated this contact, I am very uneasy about this person having had access to my computer at all. Does this sound phishy to anyone else or am I being paranoid?
