I purchased a HP Deskjet 2700 Series Printer.

When i get home, i started to set it up by putting the Printer's Ink, then downloafing an app using my lap top computer.

Then, when I start to run a test print page, there was no printing on the paper, nor even a single word in colored or black was not printed on the test page.

Please help me why.

Thank you HP community

There are unboxing and other useful video at that HP youtube site

The below is all know about your Deskjet: 2700.  Hope I am not oversharing!

Watch the reset video or perform the steps. After resetting, you generally have 2 hours to complete the setup. Decide if you want to connect the printer to the router or to print directly to the printer and bypass the router.

Many HP and other OEM printers have problems with the router when the router has two or more bands and all have the same name (SSID). Log into the modem and rename one of the bands. Alternately, contact your ISP and have them rename a band, or simply use Wi-Fi direct.
NOTE: If you signed up for instant ink, internet services, or your printer model ends in the letter 'e' then click the spoiler for special needs.

Spoiler
HP+ printers are designated by a lowercase "e" at the end of their model number (e.g., 8135e rather than 8135). These models are enabled for HP's smart printing ecosystem, which requires a permanent internet connection, an HP account, and the exclusive use of Original HP ink for the lifetime of the printer.

If English is not your native language or if you wish to get additional information not covered below, then use the HP and Microsoft support assistants. The latest HPSA supports 36 languages and can be downloaded here. Microsoft's AI assistant is in the latest Windows 10 and 11 releases and there are instructions here on how to enable the AI. Microsoft's AI assistant (Copilot) has a microphone button and supports natural language processing.

Disconnecting the USB cable may still leave the printer in the wired or Wi-Fi mode. Connecting an ethernet cable may still leave the printer in Wi-Fi mode. The Wi-Fi reset is used to put Wi-Fi printers into setup mode. Some resets are simple and others require a video to understand. Factory resets cannot be revealed in this forum. To do a factory reset of your printer, you must contact HP.

Wi-Fi reset instructions and videos (if any) are shown below. Generally you have 2 hours to connect your printer after performing the Wi-Fi reset. Note that a reset video may show a slightly different model than yours. Do not call any phone numbers revealed in any video or site.

Wi-Fi connection

Spoiler

Ideally, your Wi-Fi printer should connect to the modem or router. If your network has multiple boosters / repeaters, it is possible the printer may connect randomly to any of the units. The router needs to provide the same IP address on every connection. This rarely happens with random connects. An alternate Wi-Fi connection is Wi-Fi direct. Your laptop or smartphone prints directly to the printer and does not go through the router. Do not call any phone number revealed in any video or site.

This video shows how to connect to the router: 2700 2755 2710
Wi-Fi Direct can be used to avoid configuring the router. Watch this: 2700
Wi-Fi Direct is explained on page 24 of the User Manual, this Wi-Fi setup avoids configuring the router.
A simple connection to the router can be done by using the WPS pushbutton method. This is explained on page 22 in this User Manual.

Software

HP updates software periodically. Downloads shown below may be old. You should always visit the Software and Download page to look for new releases.

Spoiler
You may need to select an operating system (OS) first. If windows 11 is missing then use 10. You can go as far back as Windows 7, 64bit to get missing drivers. After selecting the OS click the blue Open all button to view all downloads.

Full function printer drivers (Intel/AMD cpu) can be downloaded here: 2700
You can find all of the software here (including ARM cpu). You should select the OS and then look for the phrase "Open All" and click that. 2700 series

Printer Reference

One or more printer reference is listed below. Typically your printer may be part of a series and use the same software and manual. The exact spec may be different.

Specifications for your system: 2700 2710 2755 2732 2752e 2742e 2734 2752 2752

The printer supports both the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band.
You may want to force the printer to use only one band. This can prevent it from getting a different IP address depending on the band it connects to. Watch this video to see how to set the band.

Hi Lmg77716

Try these steps to get the ink flowing:

1. Check for Protective Tape on the Ink Cartridges

This is the single most common reason a brand new printer prints completely blank pages.

  • Open the front door where you inserted the ink.

  • Take both the black and color cartridges back out.

  • Look closely at the bottom/side of each cartridge. There is usually a brightly colored (often orange or pink) plastic pull-tab or protective tape covering the electronic contacts and the ink nozzles.

  • If it is still there, peel it completely off and reinstall the cartridges until they firmly click into place.

2. Try an "Internal" Test Page

We need to determine if the issue is a communication problem between your laptop and the printer, or a physical issue with the printer itself.

  • Make sure paper is loaded.

  • On the printer's control panel, press the Information button (the icon looks like an "i").

  • If it prints beautifully: Your printer hardware is working fine, meaning the issue is with the HP Smart app, drivers, or connection on your laptop.

  • If it is still completely blank: The issue is physical—either the tape is still on, the cartridges aren't making contact, or they are locked in wrong.

3. Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle

Sometimes during shipping or initial installation, air bubbles get trapped in the tiny ink nozzles, blocking the flow entirely. You can clear this using the laptop app you downloaded (HP Smart).

  • Open the HP Smart app on your laptop.

  • Click on your printer's icon or go to Printer Settings.

  • Look for Tools or Print Quality Tools.

  • Select Clean Printhead (or Clean Cartridges).

  • The printer will make some noise and run a cycle trying to force the ink through. You may need to run this 2 or 3 times if it's completely dry.

4. Perform a Hard Reset

If the printer got confused during its first-time initialization, a hard reset can clear its memory.

  • With the printer turned ON, unplug the power cord directly from the back of the printer.

  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  • Wait 60 seconds.

  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet, and then reconnect it to the printer. Turn it back on and try printing again.

Give that protective tape a check first—9 times out of 10, that's the culprit on a fresh setup!

I hope the above is helpful
