The most frustrating thing about HP lasers is that they go offline and to get them back to enable printing involves rebooting the printer and/or rebooting the computer.
It is never simple and it is never quick.
I have replaced printers because I thought the issue was unique to whatever model I had, but it just keeps on going… offline.
If I could find a printer that would not do this I would throw my new HP MFP 3301 away.
If there is a solution to this, I would be thrilled!

Bring up the EWS page or the printer control panel (if it has one) and set sleep to off or never.
Alternately, use an ethernet cable to connect the printer to the router. It appears your router (like many) cannot wakeup a Wi-Fi printer that has gone into sleep mode.
On my canon photo, I have to push the online button to wake it up or it will never print. My HP LJ1415 is hardwired and always wakes up automatically.
Let me know what you find out.
