When I try to send documents to print, I only get the option to fax. Unplugging and restarting the printer did not help. The driver is up to date. I don't have a clue what is wrong. Please, can someone help?

@Des-perate, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're only seeing the Fax option when trying to print from your HP Officejet Pro 8620 on Windows 11. This is a common issue and usually happens when the Fax driver is set as the default printer instead of the actual printer driver.
Let’s walk through the steps to fix this:
Set the Correct Printer as Default
- Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
- In the Devices and Printers window, look for your printer. You might see two icons:
- HP Officejet Pro 8620
- HP Officejet Pro 8620 Fax
- Right-click on HP Officejet Pro 8620 (not the Fax one) and select Set as default printer.
- Try printing again.
Remove the Fax Option (Optional)
If you don’t use fax at all, you can remove the Fax printer:
- In the same Devices and Printers window, right-click on HP Officejet Pro 8620 Fax.
- Select Remove device.
Reinstall the Full Feature Software (if needed)
If the correct printer doesn’t show up, reinstall the full driver:
- Go to the official HP driver page for your printer:
HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support - Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers for Windows 11.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Try Printing Again
After setting the correct printer as default and/or reinstalling the driver, try printing your document again. You should now see the correct printer option instead of Fax.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
