Hi @LoraineM

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the touchscreen on your HP HPE87650 printer is displaying lines and is unresponsive, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn Off and Unplug: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug In and Restart: Plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Using HP Software: If you can access any part of the printer’s settings or the HP Smart app, check for firmware updates. An update might resolve display issues.
  • HP Support Website: Visit the HP Support website to see if there are any firmware updates for your model.

3. Inspect the Screen

  • Physical Damage: Check for any visible damage to the screen. If there are cracks or other physical issues, this may require replacement.
  • Loose Connections: If you feel comfortable, you could open the printer to check for loose connections to the touchscreen. However, this may void your warranty, so proceed with caution.

4. Factory Reset

  • If the touchscreen allows it, consider performing a factory reset:
    • Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This may help resolve software issues causing the display problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
