Hi @Amie22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure Internet Connectivity

Ensure that your computer and printer are connected to the internet. Check your Wi-Fi signal and make sure it is stable.

Sign In or Create HP Account

To register your printer, you need to sign in to your HP account:

  • Make sure you are signed in to the HP Smart app.
  • If you do not have an HP account, you can create one during the setup process.

Verify Printer Connectivity

Make sure your printer is connected to your network:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on.
  • Verify that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
  • If using a wired connection, ensure the Ethernet cable is properly connected.

Restart Devices

Sometimes, restarting both your printer and computer or mobile device can resolve connectivity issues:

  • Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer or mobile device.

Update Printer Firmware and Software

Make sure your printer firmware and HP Smart app are up to date:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Try Using a Different Device for Setup

If the error persists, try setting up your printer using another device (e.g., another computer or mobile device) to see if the problem can be isolated to a single device.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
