We used to have a C5280 last year. Since then, it has been replaced by a Deskjet 2134.
I might be wrong, but apparently HP Solution Centre 14.0 is not needed?
I have tried uninstalling it from Apps, but nothing happens. Therefore, it is corrupt.
I think I may need to re-install, and then uninstall?

It has been years since I have used Registry Cleaner software -- if you have already cleaned the registry, I cannot comment on the results.
Each printer package installed on the computer provides its own "Printer Assistant" (formally the Solution Center). Once installed, the "Printer Assistant" shortcut icon for that printer is added to the Desktop. In addition, added for at least for some printers: "Shop for Supplies" shortcut named for that printer
I can offer the following suggestions:
- Download and save (or verify you still have) the Full Feature Software for your new printer
- Download and save a new copy of the HP Photo Creations program: HP Photo Creations
- Download and save a new copy of the HP Support Assistant program: HP Support Assistant
- If you have not done so, Create a Restore Point
Stop all programs: Browsers, games, Applications, etc.
Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection >
Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point
Open Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
Scroll the list and find Printer software packages (new and old)
NOTE: The names and references are likely different from the titles gleaned from CCleaner -- you may see fewer entries (not as many separate packages listed for each of the printer program suites).
Example of printer programs as listed in Programs and Features (Windows 10 Pro v1703) -- your list will be different:
Right-Click > Uninstall the printer software packages you find in the list
If the standard uninstall procedure fails to remove the software,
Remove the software using an uninstaller program.
Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
and / or
Revo Uninstaller (Free version)
Uninstall the software packages for the old printer and for the new printer
Next
Uninstall the existing "HP Support Framework" software from Programs and Features
Uninstall the existing "HP Support Assistant" software from Programs and Features
If the uninstall fails to remove the software, use one of the Uninstaller programs
and
Uninstall the existing "HP Photo Creations" software from Programs and Features
If the uninstall fails to remove the software, use one of the Uninstaller programs
If you have not yet done so, Restart the computer and log in
Open Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
Check the list for the software you removed.
If you missed anything, uninstall that package
If you uninstall anything, Restart the computer and log in
Check Windows Updates to ensure there are not new Windows Updates that need to be installed:
Settings > Update and Security > Windows Updates > Check for Updates
If any new Updates need to be installed, do so and then Restart the computer and log in
If everything checks out...
Install the Full Feature Software >
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
Although useful, the HPSA is not mandatory...
If you want to use the HP Support Assistant > Install the HP Support Assistant
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
Install HP Photo Creations Software >
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

Just as an aside, I was not here when the new software was installed. It llooks as though it was installed on top of what was already on the computer.
That full error message in W10 is:
Parsing error in file: c:\Program Files (x86)\HP|Digital Imaging\bin\hpqsdoc\1033.xml
Can anyone offer an help please?
Thank you.

If you have not already done so...
Create a Restore Point
Download and save the Full Feature Software for the new printer:
DJ2130_Full_WebPack_40.11.1124.exe
(139.6 MB)
If using a USB cable between the printer and the computer, Disconnect the USB cable
Uninstall the existing printer software package(s) from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
Restart the computer and log in
Check Programs and Features AND check Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
Make sure the printer software is "gone"
If not, uninstall the printer "app", Restart the computer and log in
Check the "old" printer in Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
If you find the offending printer, Left-Click to highlight and then "Remove Device" (top ribbon)
Open a File Explorer Window
Navigate to the (Downloads) folder in which the installation package is saved
Double-Click on the package to start the installation
If using a USB cable between the printer and the computer, Connect the USB cable when instructed
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
Look for the Printer Assistant shortcut icon on the Desktop named for the (new) printer

OK, after trying to do some detective work, by right clicking on items in HP in Start menu, and Open Folder Location it looks as though the following are for the 5200:
Add a device
Help
Product Registration
Product Support Website
Readme
Uninstall.
And also the Solution Centre, which I can't get rid of!
I've done a restore point, and going to Uninstall. I'll let you know shortly.

Wow ! That's a big solution ! I've only just read this by the way.
I would just like to say thank you very much for bearing with me so far.
I've consciously avoided messing around with any registry cleaners at the moment, as I am well aware of their potential to really mess things up. I just used Ccleaner to easily provide a list of installed programs, which I know it can do, in order to assist in the process. When it comes to cleaning browsing cache, temporary files etc, Ccleaner I can thoroughly recommend.
(I'm nothing to do with Piriform).
BTW: I don't use Revo Uninstaller, what about Geek Uninstaller?
This is obviously going to take a while to work through, and when I get chance (this is a shared computer). I should be posting back within 12 hours of this message though, hopefully.
Bye for now.
