Hi @BOOG59,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with envelope printing alignment on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Paper Size and Type Settings:

  • Make sure that the paper size and type settings in MS Word match the actual size and type of the envelopes you are using.
  • In MS Word, go to the "Layout" or "Page Layout" tab, click on "Size," and select the correct envelope size.

Printer Driver Settings:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw. You can check the HP website for the most up-to-date drivers.
  • Go to "Devices and Printers" on your computer, right-click on your HP printer, and select "Printer Properties." Check the settings related to paper size and type.

Paper Tray Settings:

  • Confirm that the paper guides in the paper tray are set correctly for the size of the envelopes.
  • Adjust the paper guides to snugly fit the envelopes.

Print Preview:

  • Use the print preview feature in MS Word to see how the document will appear on the envelope. This can help you identify any potential alignment issues before printing.

Manual Feed Tray:

  • Some printers have a manual feed or bypass tray that allows you to manually feed envelopes. Check if your printer has this option, and try using it.

Envelopes Orientation:

  • Ensure that you are placing the envelopes in the tray with the correct orientation. The orientation (landscape or portrait) should match the settings in MS Word.

Margins and Positioning:

  • Adjust the margins in your Word document to ensure that the content is within the printable area of the envelope.
  • Check if there are any specific envelope printing settings in the printer properties that allow you to fine-tune the positioning.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
