Trying to print a Word document with the 1st page on letterhead (Tray 2) and the rest on plain paper (Tray 4). I use Page Setup to set Page 1 to print on Letterhead (Tray 2) and the rest of the document to print on plain paper (Tray 4). All pages print on Letterhead. Not sure what I am doing wrong. If it helps HP support told me to do 2 seperate print jobs as a workaround.

I see no one is willing to answer this question. This is a simple task that almost every business needs to do on a daily basis. Print a document of more than one page, with the 1st being on Letterhead and the rest on plain paper. Now I am being told that this is a Product Limitation on my HP MFP 636z which I spent a considerable amount of money on. Now it cannot do a simple task that I have done for years on other HP printers. This printer replaced a Xerox printer which had no trouble doing this task. Here is what HP stated.
Unfortunately printing from two different paper types in one try would be a Product Limitation and you will need to print all the pages that you want to print from letterhead paper and then change the print settings and print the rest of the paper from another paper type.
So now every time I need to print a document that needs letterhead on the 1st page I need to break it up into 2 print jobs.
Can someone explain this to me and if anyone has a workaround? This topic seems to be getting ignored as I am by HP where they do not return your calls. It is a shame it used to be a quality company now they do not seem to care about their customers, like putting the chip in the Toner cartridges so you would have to buy from them. Just sad.

I would never contradict what you are told elsewhere -- certainly not on this subject, at least.
I can explain little and I have only one bit of information of share -- I do expect you know about it.
That said, having used the words in the message, it is possible someone else will see and can answer or elaborate.

Reading the user manual, I do find something called the Alternative Letterhead Mode feature.
This feature does appear as of it might be what you might want / need.
No - I don't know how / if it integrates with Word.
My feeling (utterly useless in context of your irritation) is that the loading sequence and the tray setup is compatible with an obvious document editing software like Word.

Dragon-Fur,
Point taken, I do not mean to take my frustrations out on the HP-Community, I realize we are here to help each other out.
This just seems like it is a simple issue but the fact there is no solution or workaround is crazy. I did try the Alternative Letterhead Mode and all that seem to do was make me flip the letterhead over in the tray in order to print on the correct side. But I do appreciate your effort.
Hopefully, someone has some insight, and I can get a resolution to this issue.
Thanks
