HP DeskJet 2722e All-in-One Printer

Hey there, I have been following online tips about this issue (such as the ones here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD1YaFTaSHs&t=1s). However, despite of finding my printer, HP Smart doesn't manage to go after "Configurazione della stampante / Invio delle informazioni di rete..." in Italian ("Printer prepared" in English, I think). What's wrong? What's missing? Thanks for helping me out with this 🙂

Hi @Federico_S_93,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you are unable to connect the printer to the network

To assist better -

  1. What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?
  2.  I would like to know, is your router set to work on a 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?

Meanwhile, try the below steps -

Please try the steps below to connect your printer to the network.-

● Press the Wireless button ((i)) and the Cancel button (X) from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

-->On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Resume button together for three seconds. (When Wi-Fi Direct is turned on, the Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display stays on)

--->On your computer or phone go to wifi and connect it to your printer

--->Select your printer with DIRECT in the name from the list of available networks (example: DIRECT-74-HP Deskjet2700).

--->Select the Wi-Fi Direct printer signal in Wi-Fi settings

--->If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in.

--->Now open a browser and type 192.168.223.1

--->you will be able to access the printer's EWS page

--->on the page, you will find network - click on it

--->go to wireless and select wireless setup wizard

--->now select the network that you want your printer to connect to and type in the password

--->the printer will have solid blue light if it's connected

--->then connect your phone back to your network

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi Elohi, thank you for helping me out with this.

1. When I turn the printer on, there is no light at all on the Wi-Fi icon. After pressing on ((i)) and (X), the blue light starts blinking.

2. My router works on 2.4GHz.

I couldn't find my printer with DIRECT in the name from the list of available networks. I could find HP=Setup<05_DeskJet 2700 series. Going on http://192.168.223.1/ on the browser, (after a warning message) I could access this page(*) and open the "Rete" tab (it should be "Network", in English).

There I was asked for the printer's PIN (which has a lock icon on its left and it's located inside my printer, under P/N and S/N). well, I have typed the 8 digit PIN, but it keeps saying that it's not correct...

What's the issue? Can you guys see any logs from your side?

I am adding a few pieces of info, just in case anybody else happens to read this:

once on https://192.168.223.1, I can see Wi-Fi Direct having "Questa funzionalità è stata bloccata dall'amministratore." (which is Italian for "Such functionality was blocked by the admin"... Why so?!?

Despite of that, I can click on the card, open the page "Rete" ("Network" in English, I think), and I am asked to insert the PIN.

Once done so, it always says, "Pin errato. Riprovare", which is Italian for "Wrong PIN. Try again" (despite of me having typed the right PIN).

What's happening?
