HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I received a used HP Officejet Pro printer from a friend and am unable to complete setup on my Mac using HP Smart. I consistently get the following error message and am unable to proceed. I've tried all of the steps in online help without any success. Would appreciate suggestions for next steps as the printer is out of warranty

Error Code: UA_400_EB000U0410

Hi @AdnerbCAN,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code UA_400_EB000U0410 typically indicates a problem with the setup process or a connectivity issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Restart Devices:

  • Power off your printer, computer, and router.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Turn them back on and attempt the setup process again.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
  • Verify that the printer’s Wi-Fi is enabled and connected. You can check the printer’s control panel or use the printer’s built-in menu to ensure it’s connected to your network.

Update HP Smart App:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your Mac. You can check for updates in the Mac App Store or through the HP Smart website.

Reset Printer Network Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the network settings and select the option to reset network settings or restore network defaults.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Uninstall the HP Smart app from your Mac.
  • Download and install the latest version from the HP Smart website.

Check for Printer Firmware Updates:

  • If possible, check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. You can usually find this information on the HP website or the printer’s control panel.

Verify Printer Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the printer is compatible with macOS and that the necessary drivers are installed. You can download drivers from the HP Support website.

Check for Error Messages:

  • If the error persists, note any additional error messages or codes displayed on the printer’s control panel. This information can help in diagnosing the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
