Deskjet 3050 All-in-One J610a
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I have been using a Deskjet 3050 All-in-One J610a in USB connection mode all along but now I am planning to convert into a Wireless print mode. I have tried using the Utility multiple iterations but it just doesn't complete. It says my router isn't reachable but am clearing able to access and work through my other devices. How do I make the printer reach the wireless router which has WPA2 security enabled.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to connect the printer to the router, I am glad to assist you.

1)Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? If yes, make sure the dual-band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and          5G networks.

2) What is the distance between the router and the printer?

3) Is there an antivirus software installed on your Mac?

4) Could you perform a ping test  and let me know the results? Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can       be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.

Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Click Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
  2. type ping "IP address" and press enter

Wait until 10 pings have been performed and then press ctrl c on the keyboard and hit return.

The results will appear.

 Share the ping test results.

Add the printer through System Preferences:

  1. Connect the printer to the network. Steps to connect vary by printer control panel type.

    • Printers with touchscreen or LCD menu displays: On the printer, select the Setup, Network, or Wireless menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer.

    • Printers without displays: Press the Wireless button  to turn on the wireless radio. If the wireless light is on and solid, the printer is connected to the network. If the light is blinking, move the printer close to your wireless router, press the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on the router, and then wait until the wireless light is solid.

  2. Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

  3. Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list with Bonjour or Bonjour Multifunction as the Kind, and then do one of the following steps.

    • If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up correctly. Click the printer name, click the minus sign  to delete the printer, click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.

    • If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.

    • If your printer is not listed in the Add Printer or Scanner window, make sure the printer is connected to the same wireless network as your Mac. Try to add the printer again, and then continue to the next step.

  4. Click the Use or Print Using menu, and then select AirPrint or the printer name to complete the setup.
