HP ENVY 5010 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

In my attempts to set up the instant ink program, I am instructed to do the following: To launch HP Web Services, tap the ePrint icon on the printer Home Screen, then tap "Set Up". When prompted, accept the Terms and Conditions. When I tap that icon - it just gives me a "web services summary" and says it's connected. No ability to set up, accept terms and conditions etc.

It looks like it's active so I "continue" on the instant ink site - Then the online program gives me this error:

HP Web Services hasn't enabled yet. We currently can't connect to your printer and as a result aren't able to ship cartridges.

My only option on my printer is to remove web services which I'm not sure will help!

Hi @SRB45,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Enable/Disable Web Services on your printer

You need to enable web services on your printer to use web-connected features like ePrint, Print Apps, and Scheduled Print.  If you skipped enabling web services during the initial setup of your device, or if you are having issues using web services, use the steps below to enable or remove and then re-enable web services.  In some cases removing and re-enabling web services on your printer can resolve web services connectivity issues for your printer.

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Confirm your printer supports Web Services

  • Make sure your printer supports Web Services.
  • Make sure your printer is connected to the internet. Web Services does not support printers connected with only a USB cable.
  • Determine if your printer automatically enables Web Services during printer setup.
  • For printer released before 2020, continue with these steps.
  • For HP+ printers and printers released after 2020, Web Services is automatically enabled during printer setup after enabling cloud printing services, such as Print Anywhere or Instant Ink. Restore factory defaults on your HP printer to help resolve any setup issues, and then go to 123.hp.com to set up your printer with the HP Smart app.
  • On the printer or control panel, look for an ePrint or Web Services icon. For printers with a touchscreen, touch Setup ( or ), and then look for a Web Services menu.
  • If the icon or menu is available, continue with these steps.
  • If the icon or menu is missing, the printer might not support Web Services. Go to Mobile printing solutions to see if your printer supports HP ePrint or Print Anywhere, indicating it supports Web Services.
