I want to turn OFF the automatic duplex. In settings I have turned off the box for "Activate the duplex printing mode". And it says it is off. But the prints still come out as duplex. How do I solve this?

Hi @Kristin31,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already disabled the duplex printing option in the printer settings but still experience duplex printing, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Printer Properties on Computer:
- Go to your computer's "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" settings.
- Locate your HP printer, right-click on it, and select "Printer properties" or "Printing preferences."
- Check the settings in this menu to ensure that duplex printing is disabled.
Print Preferences in Application:
- When you print a document, the application you're using (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader) might have its own print settings.
- Before hitting the print button, check the print preferences or properties within the application to ensure that duplex printing is turned off.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed for your HP printer. Outdated or corrupt drivers can sometimes cause unexpected behavior.
- Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off your HP printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP printer on the HP support website.
- If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the printer's firmware.
Reset Printer Settings:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the settings or setup menu.
- Look for an option to reset the printer settings to factory defaults. This might vary depending on your specific model.
Check for Print Job Settings:
- When sending a print job, make sure the print job settings on your computer match your desired settings, such as single-sided printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
