HP ENVY 6052e All-in-One Printer

Help!  I have a new HP envy 6000 series printer in my bedroom. Unfortunate, the darn Wi-Fi light stays on permanently. I tried to turn it off in settings. It said there is no auto off function if connected Wi-Fi. Who designs these things?   I want the light off  when I sleep or auto power off the entire printer after an amount of time. It won’t let me that I can find. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi @Cubbies99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It can be frustrating when a device doesn’t offer the level of control you need, especially with something as simple as turning off a light. Here are some steps and tips you can use to manage your HP Envy 6000 series printer’s Wi-Fi light and power settings:

1. Turn Off Wi-Fi:

  • Disable Wi-Fi:
    • Open the printer’s settings menu. Go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
    • Look for an option to turn off the wireless connection or disable Wi-Fi temporarily. This might help turn off the Wi-Fi light.

2. Use Printer's Power Settings:

  • Power Off Automatically:
    • Some HP printers have a power-saving feature that can be set to turn off the printer after a certain period of inactivity.
    • Check if there’s an option for Auto-Off or Energy Saving Mode in the printer settings menu. If available, enable it to have the printer power off after a set time.

3. Use HP Smart App for Control:

  • Configure Power Settings:
    • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
    • Go to the printer settings within the app and look for options related to power management or sleep settings. Some features might be more accessible via the app.

4. Firmware Updates:

  • Check for Updates:
    • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes updates add new features or settings that can help manage power and connectivity options.
    • You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.

5. Manual Power Off:

  • Power Off the Printer:
    • If the Wi-Fi light remains on and it’s disturbing your sleep, consider manually powering off the printer when not in use. This is a more hands-on approach but ensures the light and any other functions are turned off.

6. Consult the User Manual:

  • Review Documentation:
    • The user manual for your HP Envy 6000 series printer may provide specific instructions on managing Wi-Fi settings and power options. If you don't have a physical copy, you can usually find the manual online on the HP Support website.

While it’s understandable to want more control over such settings, some devices may have limitations based on their design. Hopefully, these steps will help you find a solution that works for your situation.

If you still cannot find a way to turn off the Wi-Fi light or set an auto power-off feature, contact HP Phone Support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
