This printer does not support automatic 2-sided scan.
Your printer looks a bit like the model that includes 2-sided-single-pass scan (Officejet Pro 9025), but it is not the same printer.
How-to document:
You have to use the scan-flip-load-repeat option.
(As you know) the printer does support automatic 2-sided print.
