Product: HP Laserjet Pro M281fdw
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I bought this printer in London, and now I have moved to the US, will the printer work in the US? I can't seem to get it to power up using an adapter on the cord.

All laser printers are region specific when it comes to power supplies. Units sold in UK only work on 220 and units sold in US only work on 110.This is different than some of their inkjet models that have universal power supplies. You could use a step up transformer but you need to ensure that one you get can handle the current requirements of a laser printer. Meaning it needs to be able to supply 10 amps.
