HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer

I currently have an old HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer connected by wire to my old computer. I would like to be able to connect it to a new computer via USB cable. Is there an adaptor available that would make this possible?

This printer has a usb port on it, you only need to purchase a standard a-b usb device cable like this one

Dear Repairatrooper,

Thank you for so kindly responding to my question. However, I do not see a usb port anywhere on my printer, only the power input and the input for the wired computer connection.

Sorry for entering in this conversation without previous notice, but I am here to help 😇

Check in the back connectors on the printer:

Also check the USB cable to find where the USB cable connects to the back connector on printer.

Dear ferRX,

Thank you so much for this picture. In case, you and Repairatrooper have not already guessed, I am a "technologically challenged" senior. I did not realize that USB connectors come in different shapes.  I was looking for a port that was shaped like the USB ports on our home charging station for our phones. Sorry!

So, if I understand correctly now, you're saying that the more square-like end of the connector should fit where my current computer connector cable attaches to the printer. Right?

Dear Repairatrooper,

I'm sorry for being so confused despite your clear recommendation. I think ferRX may have straightened me out.  See continued conversation. Thank you for your kindness and patience.

Hi @RJ198

1. Don´t worry, we are here to help you 😇, we are users of HP printers and volunteers here.

2. Answering you question, yes you are right square like connector should fit into your printer and the other more flat-connector should go to your computer.

In this video, I show you how to connect a printer to a computer with a USB cable. It is a fairly simple process, and I explain the instructions in this video. There are basically 2 cables that you need to worry about when making this type of connection: a power wire, and a USB wire. I also ...
