HP Envy 5660
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to increase the auto-off hours, but the display is greyed out. I'm unable to change the value because it appears to be disabled.

Hi @tekk214,

Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you want to turn on auto off feature on your HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer for a longer time.

Please follow the steps listed below to change Auto-Off settings.

1. From the Home screen on the printer display, select Preferences.

NOTE: If you do not see the Home screen, press the Home button.

2. From the Preferences menu, select Auto-Off.

3. From the Auto-Off menu, select On or Off, and then press OK to confirm the setting. Once you change the setting, the printer maintains the setting.

Let me know if this helps and have a good day.

What I don't see on my printer screen is step 2 you mentioned. Will factory reset bring it back?

2. From the Preferences menu, select Auto-Off.

Got my own answer. Factory reset did not restore that setting to the printer's control panel. Auto-off is only visible (but greyed out) from the embedded web server interface.

I have two other HP printers. To get into the Power Management setting from the Control Panel, I tap Settings -> Power Management. The Envy apparently doesn't have the ability to increase the Auto-Off value. Unless there is some undocumented way to do so.

Hi @tekk214,

I see that the auto off time cannot be configured apart from the preset values.

I am afraid, this is how the printer is designed.

Take care and have a nice day.
