Hello - I just bought an HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer and it connected easily to my WIFI but I cannot get it connected to my Dell laptop, running Windows 11. I have scanned documents to email and have also printed from my phone. However, I am just going in circles with the HP Smart app - which is supposed to point me toward software drivers to download, but I don't see any - and I've also tried updating to install some sort of fax driver, which was the only update I was missing, with no luck. I do now have an HP Smart printer showing up in my list of available printers, but I can't seem to add any printers to that so it's not doing anything. I did go into Settings on my laptop, clicked Add Device, saw the printer listed, and then clicked the Add Device button next to the printer name, but it fails every time and I have no idea why - I get a message saying "that didn't work". At one point, I was going to try adding manually by using the printer's IP address, but the info screen on the printer froze and I can't get the IP address. Also, the power button didn't seem to work, so I unplugged the printer to reset it. Do I just have a lemon or can this be solved? I do have two other HP printers connected to my laptop so I've done this successfully before - but I've been on this for over two hours now, and I'm ready to return this printer to Best Buy if there isn't an easy fix here. Any help you can provide is much appreciated. Thank you!
