Since a few months nothing works anymore between my PowerBook M1/ventura OS and my HP laserjet printer. I have tried many solution from HP or but nothing works . Sometimes I get a page printed after 5" waiting, sometimes nothing. Trying to remove and reinstall the printer ends by this message : "Unable to communicate with the printer at this time."

Hi @Christian1943,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are receiving an error message saying "Unable to communicate with the printer at this time" when trying to use your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w printer, there are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.
- Check the printer's connection: Make sure the printer is connected to your computer or network correctly. If you're using a USB cable, ensure it is plugged in properly to both the printer and your computer. If you're using a wireless network, make sure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network and that your computer is also connected to the same network.
- Restart both the printer and your computer: Turn off your printer and computer, then turn them back on after a few minutes. This will refresh the connection between the two devices and may resolve the issue.
- Update printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
- Disable any firewall or security software: Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer, as it may be blocking communication between your computer and the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for time,
I followed your suggestions.
The result is that I can print but not scan: "the scanner reported a error" to whom and what! Nobody knows.
Then I decided to reinstall the printer and use it through an USB cable.
Again "the scanner encountered a problem, go to ...."
I give up.
May be some days I will read somewhere that the HP printer problem are solved.
Wait until my birthday to get a new printer ....
