I have a new Spectrum router and it doesn't have a WPS button. My printer is looking for that to connect. I have tried physically moving the printer closer and tried to work thought the HP app. The printer is not detectable in the HP app. I have even tried a new router with a WPS button, to no avail. I love the printer and would appreciate any suggestions on how I might approach this. Thank you!!!

Hi @PennyBuck,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to connect your HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw to a new Wi-Fi network without using WPS, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
Connect Printer to Computer via USB:
- Temporarily connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable.
Install Printer Software:
- Ensure you have the latest HP full-feature software and drivers installed for your printer. You can download it from the HP Support website.
Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open a web browser on your computer.
- Type the IP address of your printer (find this through the printer's menu by navigating to the Network Configuration Page or via the printer driver software).
- Press Enter to open the EWS.
Configure Wireless Settings:
- In the EWS, navigate to the Networking or Wireless tab.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Method 2: Using HP Smart App
Install HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
Connect Printer to Computer via USB:
- Temporarily connect your printer to your computer using a USB cable.
Add Printer to HP Smart:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Click on the Add Printer button.
- Follow the prompts to add your printer. The app will detect the printer via USB.
Configure Wi-Fi Settings:
- Once the printer is added, go to Printer Settings within the HP Smart app.
- Look for an option to Wireless Setup or Wi-Fi Setup.
- Follow the instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.
Method 3: Manual IP Configuration
Print a Network Configuration Page:
- On your printer, navigate to the Network or Wireless menu.
- Select the option to print a Network Configuration Page.
Find Printer's IP Address:
- Locate the IP address on the printed configuration page.
Access Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Open a web browser and type in the IP address of the printer.
- Press Enter to open the EWS.
Configure Wireless Settings:
- Navigate to the Networking or Wireless tab in the EWS.
- Enter the new Wi-Fi network details manually.
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Reset Network Settings: If the printer was previously connected to another network, you may need to reset the network settings. Refer to the printer’s user manual for instructions on how to perform a network reset.
- Ensure Compatibility: Make sure your router's frequency (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) is compatible with your printer. The HP LaserJet Pro CP1525nw typically supports only 2.4 GHz.
- Update Firmware: Ensure the printer firmware is up to date. Check HP's support website for any firmware updates for your printer model.
