I am trying to connect my printer to my laptop. I am adding printer on the laptop but it has been installing for at least 15mins.

I understand you're having trouble with the printer installation process. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

 

Check Connectivity: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your WiFi network and that both the printer and laptop are on the same network.

Update Drivers: Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for the DeskJet 2720e. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause installation issues.

Use HP Smart: Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store if you haven’t already. The HP Smart app often provides a more streamlined installation process.

Restart Devices: Restart both your printer and laptop to clear any temporary issues.

Check Printer Status: Make sure your printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages.

Add Printer Manually:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click on Add a printer or scanner.
  • Wait for your printer to appear in the list. If it does not appear, select The printer that I want isn't listed.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to add the printer manually.

Network Troubleshooting:

  • Check your network settings to ensure there are no issues with your WiFi.
  • If possible, connect the printer to your laptop using a USB cable temporarily to complete the installation, and then reconnect it to the network.

Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select the Printer and follow the prompts to diagnose and fix any issues.
