HP OfficeJet 4620
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Hi,

I am having problems connecting my HP OfficeJet 4620 via a Mac running Sierra 10.12.5 and a ZyXEL AMG1302-T11C router.

Using WPS I am able to connect to the wifi, the printer indicates it's connected and has an IP address, but I am unable to use any wireless printing services and the printer doesn't show up as an option in AirPrint on an iPhone or iPad.

Additionally, when I attempt to establish a wireless connection via USB setup through HP Easy Start on the Mac the process gets stuck.

It will complete the 'Prepare the setup' and 'Setting up the device' stages successfully, but persistently gets stuck on the Verify the Settings stage as it asks me to remove the USB. Even after I have unplugged the USB and it goes through the verification stage again, it still asks me to disconnect the USB when there is nothing actually plugged in.

I have updated the firmware on the router and reinstalled HP Easy Start to no avail. Any help much appreciated.

As I Understand you are unable to connect to a wireless network on your HP Office Jet 4620 eAIO printer,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you check your product specifications to check if your PC supports Wireless?

(Click here, if you haven't and to let you know, it does support Wireless connections although the Mac-OS 10.12 is not supported)

Did you install the drivers for you printer on your macOS?

If you haven't, here's what you need to do:

Click here to download and install the ePrint software

Also, use this link (Click here) if the above doesn't work.

If the issue persists, try the below steps:

Step 1: Restart the computer, printer, and router

Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any network or communication error states.

   NOTE:

The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the router.

  2. Turn off the printer.

  3. Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

  5. Turn on the printer.

  6. Turn on the computer.

  7. Try installing the HP software again.

    • If the printer is found during the installation, the issue is resolved.

    • If the printer is not found during the installation, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Check the network and printer connection status

Make sure your network is working correctly and that the printer is ready for the network setup.
