I have a HP Photosmart 7520 that works perfectly for both printing and scanning over wifi with Windows computers, but I'm unable to install it over wifi on my Mac which is running MacOS 10.14.1 Mojave.
I have tried to use the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers version 12.34, and it installs ok. When I try to add the printer, the software is unable to find it and it just stays on this page forever:
I have also tried to use the HP Easy Start software, version 2.9.0.180. This software is able to find the printer but gives me the following warning during installation:
When I proceed with the installation, I get to the stage where I am prompted to add the device to the System Preferences "Printers & Scanners" list, and then receive the following error which I cannot get past:
I have tried rebooting both the Mac and the printer, I have restored the printer to factory settings, I have uninstalled all HP software and drivers and re-installed them, and I have reset the Mac printing system.
Can anyone help please?

That's unfortunate 😞 It's possible that the wireless router is blocking or not able to forward multicast packet (Bonjour). Please contact your internet service provider or router manufacturer and check if the router is able to forward multicast packet.

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
Let's check if Bonjour is enabled on the printer. Here is how to do it:
1.) Press the Wireless icon on the printer control panel display to open wireless summary, locate printer IP address or IPv4 address.
2.) Open a web browser on a connected device and type the printer IP address onto the address bar and hit Enter. The EWS information page for the printer opens.
3.) Click the Network tab.
4.) Click Networking.
5.) Click Bonjour, if Bonjour is disabled, enable Bonjour and Click Apply.
Let me know how it goes!

Thank you, I hadn't considered that the problem may lie with my router. I have tested the Mac and printer on a different network with a different router and everything worked perfectly. The problem must lie with my Asus router. I will contact Asus support.

I logged into the printer and ensured that Airprint is enabled, which enabled Bonjour.
However, when I try to select the Bonjour Multifunction printer, this is the message I get:
An error occurred while trying to add the selected device.
Bad file descriptor
What now?
