I'm unable to place paper tray properly into the 8610 printer. I took it out thinking it would be simple to put it back ... ☹️

@krbabu, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you might be having trouble getting the paper tray back in place. No worries, it happens sometimes!

Align the Tray: Check the tray to make sure it's aligned correctly. The paper tray has a front and back section, and there should be little grooves where the tray slides in. If it's even slightly off, it won't go in easily.

Check the Paper Guides: Sometimes, the paper guides in the tray might get out of place or stuck. Ensure that they are properly adjusted for the paper size you're using and not pushed too far out.

Insert at an Angle: When you reinsert the tray, try inserting it at a slight angle (just tilting it a little downward). This can make it easier to slot the tray in without forcing it.

Look for Obstructions: Make sure there are no paper scraps or obstructions in the slot where the tray slides in. Even small bits of paper can block it from sliding back in smoothly.

Push it Until It Clicks: Once it's aligned, gently push the tray all the way in until you hear a click. If it doesn't click in, it might not be all the way seated.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
