Hello, I recently tried to install my new printer, however for some reason the drivers do not want to be associated with the printer. I followed all the instructions to install the software but when it came to use the printer it wasn't recognised (https://photos.app.goo.gl/mrsvfKf4cKZLVBpP9). So I went to device manager and told it to update the drivers and got a message saying that the drivers were not digitally signed or were not "digitally signed in the appropriate manner" (https://photos.app.goo.gl/8mF9UrRLuaWyQqFb9) this is despite the fact that when you opt to select the drivers manually windows says the drivers are signed (https://photos.app.goo.gl/xB9qFd36sLp9N5SXA).I tried the method outlined in a few posts on this site where by you uninstall the printer including the drivers (like this post https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/printer-and-devices-problem-digital-signa...) but this did not solve anything so I then downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor but this kept telling me the software wasn't installed and kept telling me to click install time after time (https://photos.app.goo.gl/hgANAo8fyThhRk7Z6) i.e. I would go through the install process see the printer still didn't work and then run the Print and Scan Doctor again and it would say I need to install the software which I would do, only for the same thing to happen. When I clicked on the skip option, I was told that updates were installed and a "Port Match" issue was fixed (https://photos.app.goo.gl/xqfT2ofd5fACjgkk7) But the problem still persisted, so after looking at this site I saw that Microsoft had a trouble-shooter program for printers which I installed and ran. It said to change the printer to be the default, and to isolate the drivers from the printer (update policies) then told me that a problem with the spooling had been fixed (https://photos.app.goo.gl/UAtgJ7izDt219uHL8) following this I found that I was able to use the HP app to scan to the computer and print documents through the app and manage preferences in windows printer settings. However, when I tried to print from say MS word or a webpage, in the print box it gave the message that the printer had a communication error and gave an error code: 0x80040003 which I assume is a windows error code, but according to the properties tab on the printer the device is working (https://photos.app.goo.gl/N2EHtBgZR6tf6dUN7). After going back to device manager, it seems that the drivers are still not digitally signed, I have even attempted to switch off the requirement for windows to check software for digital signatures with no success. I found this article today https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Software-and-Drivers/resolve-error-code-0x80040003/td-p/698527... I've done all the steps and it hasn't changed anything. I could try again but is there anything I've missed or anything else I could try. If you need more information please don't hesitate to ask, I may be a bit slow in responding as I'm currently working erratic shift patterns. Many thanks

@Neville_Smith, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1)In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers
Now download and install the printer software from here.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the reply, as I said in the first post I had already tried doing as you suggested, however I have now been able to solve the problem and so since others appear to have been having the same issue, I'll explain what I did.
So, looking up the error code 0x80040003 told me that the computer was unable to communicate with the printer - or a least there was an issue with communication between the two. I went into command prompt and ran the "ipconfig" programme, got the IPv4 address and then pinged the address from command prompt. The test passed (I was able to send and receive data to the IP address), so I typed "control printers" into command prompt which opens the devices and printers window. I deleted the printer then clicked on "Add a printer" at the top of the window and Windows began searching for a printer. It found the one I wanted, told windows to select it and it began working with no problems. Hope this helps anyone else that has a similar issue.
