I've been using my HP Officejet 2620 with my old Mac running El Capital os for years.
I got a new desktop a year or so ago and I've downloaded and installed the two things (Easy Start and the essential software) but it will not print the "test page" or anything else. I've got a little box saying "Connecting to Device" ... "Printing - Waiting for printer to become available". Printer is plugged into a USB port, my computer knows it's there, but they won't talk to each other. Help please! I just bought a stash of HP ink cartridges $$$ for this printer.

Hi @B6R3
1. Please download and install HP Printer drivers for MacOS from the next link:
2. Then go to Preferences > Printers then Add the printer
3. Check the steps in the next video to add your printer:

Thank you for trying to help. I've already seen this suggestion on other threads and tried it, going through the process on the video; no good, didn't work. (The software link in your message doesn't work for me but I got the driver and "easy start" from the HP website.) My computer is running Ventura 13.2.1 but this issue with the printer not working with this computer predates the current OS - it didn't work on the Monterey OS either. It worked fine on my other computer which was running El Capitan from several years ago, but that computer is now getting an overhaul and I'm expecting the same issues with this printer when I get it back... The driver version for the printer is 2.18. I've tried several times to install HP "Easy Start" but it doesn't seem to want to take, will not print the Test. Argh. Very annoying!
