OfficeJet Pro 6970

Hello, I have the officejet pro 6970, had it for around 2.5 years now.

I have postponed the last software update for a long time, approx. since last year, because the printer was working fine. However, it kept nagging me with the software update each time so about 3 Months ago, I applied the software update.

Now, the warranty is over after 2 years 🙂

However, the software update caused that the printer falls asleep, the screen turns all white, the printer is not accessible, and you have to reset it to make it come back online. Very annoying, and display being on all white the whole time is also annoying, because I have the printer in my bedroom.

Is it HP company policy to apply updates that break the device directly after the warranty ends? This is not the way i works and I will seek legal options from HP to repair my device for free or replace it.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
