@Joe44442, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The install error 0x80070103 you're encountering with Update 49.0.4395.18315 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 typically indicates that Windows is trying to install a driver that is already installed or incompatible with your system.

Here's how you can fix it:

Pause and Resume Windows Updates

Sometimes, simply refreshing the update process can resolve the issue:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update
  • Click Pause updates for 1 week
  • Then click Resume updates

This forces Windows to recheck and may skip the problematic update.

Use the Windows Update Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot
  • Click Additional troubleshooters
  • Select Windows Update and run the troubleshooter

Update the Printer Driver Manually

  • Visit the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 driver page
  • Download and install the latest driver manually instead of relying on Windows Update

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
