Hi @Nina867

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges you are using are compatible with the HP DeskJet 3764. Refer to the printer's manual or the HP website for a list of compatible cartridges.

2. Reinstall the Ink Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer access door and carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Check for any protective tape that may still be on the cartridges. If present, remove it.
  • Reinsert the cartridges, ensuring they click securely into place.

3. Clean the Contacts:

  • With the cartridges removed, gently clean the gold contact points on both the cartridges and the printer using a soft, lint-free cloth. Be careful not to touch the nozzles.

4. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Visit the HP website for any available updates that might resolve compatibility issues.Click here

5. Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset error messages.

6. Try Different Cartridges:

  • If possible, try using a different set of cartridges to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the cartridges themselves.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
