HP OfficeJet Pro 6975 All-in-One Printer

I have a mint condition OfficeJet (bought it for my wife and she never unpacked it) and I want to use it with my iMac. It says it only goes up to MacOS 10, but I have MacOS 13. Is there anything I can do...other than own a mint condition OfficeJet that is absolutely useless? (Speaking of useless, there is no way I can ask HP Customer Support since it is obviously out of warranty.)

Hi Treeko ~

First, I want to thank you for your reply. I can't wait to try it.

I was out of state when you replied, and just returned today. Now, there is something wrong either with my computer or wifi, because I can't get my computer to log onto my WiFi. I assume the printer will need a WiFi connection, so I must reluctantly wait until I resolve this problem. I promise to update you as soon as possible.

Treeko, I haven't forgotten you. I've simply been going crazy. I got back from North Dakota, and was able to access the link. Disappointingly, it only told me what I had already tired...but happily it worked! I'm thrilled and can print. I couldn't tell you because, right after that happened, my computer stopped working. (It wouldn't connect to my WiFi.) I thought it was either a problem with the computer or my ISP, but now, I think it's just that my wifi extender stopped working. So, my next task is to get that fixed.

If it's okay with you, I'd like to get it fixed first and then try to implement the printer's ability to print without a physical connection. (It's only working now because of a USB connection, but I'd like to be able to print from my phone, etc.) Since I might need your help on that, I'd like to hold off on "Accept as a solution." Is that okay?

Either way, I'm so very grateful for you!

Hi Treeko. It took me all this time to restore my wifi & internet in my office! So sorry for the delay. I am now trying to work my way through the link you sent.

(1) I currently connected the printer to my computer using the USB port. Can I have both a physical connection like that and a wireless connection, or do I have to choose one or the other? (I'd especially like to use a wireless connection for my iPhone and iPad.)

(2) My OfficePro does have a touchscreen, but I don't see any  Setup, Network or Wireless settings. The only options are Copy, Scan, Photo, Fax & Apps. So, the alternative says to press the Broadband symbol on the printer and hold the WPS button on my router. But there are no buttons on my router.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Teeko ~ Did you get my last message? It has been a week.  (By the way, I can live with no wireless connection if I have to. But I'd love help on another issue. I cannot connect the scanner to my computer. It says I need new software, but I couldn't find any on the HP website. Should I start a new thread with that question or do you have any advice...or will it just not be possible with my current iOS system?) Thanks as always!!

Thank you, Irwin6. It's not working the way it's supposed to, but I can work around the status quo and use my scanner. I might contact you again to get it working right, but this is good enough for now. Have a good day!
