I have seen that the question of using a HP 1280 printer in W.10 has been asked earlier and I have tried that suggestion of using an HP 1220c printer software package which was apparently able to operate the HP 1280 printer but in a W.10 64-bit Operating System. Although the HP 1220c software installs in W.10 (32-bit) it will not print to the HP 1280 printer I have got. The printer is currently installed and working in Windows 7 on another computer but, as will be known, Windows 7 will soon no longer be supported and I wanted to upgrade that machine to W.10.
I am aware that the HP site shows that the HP 1280 is not compatible with W.10 but if there is a way round this I want to continue to use that 1280 printer as it suites a particular printing job I regularly require. Other more up to date A3 Printers are not really very flexible at operating as single sheet by hand at a time feeding!
Can anyone offer suggestions please?

@JohnW-LSH, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The drivers for HP Deskjet 1280 Printer is not available for Win 10 OS. You may check the same on the HP Support site. however, you may install the printer using Windows built-in driver.
Refer to this document to know how.
Note: If the driver for DeskJet 1280 is not available on the list, you may try with Deskjet 990c which is a generic driver.
Let me know how this goes.
