I can’t find the option to print in black and white anywhere! I look up directions and it says click the box next to two sided but it’s not there. I have been through all the drop down menus and nothing. Please help

I have also tried using safari and chrome to no avail

A warm welcome to HP Community!

I believe the Black Ink Only print option can be enabled from the Color Options, let's try these steps:

1.) Open a document, photo, or webpage, click File, and then click Print to open the print dialog.

2.) If a Show Details button displays at the bottom of the dialog, click it to reveal all available menu options. The button changes to Hide Details when clicked.

3.) Click the unnamed print options menu at the separator bar to display more settings options.

4.) Select Paper Type/Quality.

5.) Click Color Options.

6.) Select Grayscale, then select Black Ink only.

7.) Click Print.

Let me know how it goes!

I don’t get the paper quality option in step number 4. So I will upgrade to the Mojave OS and then try your steps to get to black and white printing. See what happens then. Thanks

You are welcome! Upgrading to Mojave is a good idea. However, if you can send me screen shot of the print dialogue window, I might be able to help you locate the black ink only print option.

Hi,

I would also suggest trying the AirPrint option.

From System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, click the Plus sign and select the listed printer.

Within the Use drop-down menu select the AirPrint option and press Add.

Now try printing using the newly added print queue, you should see a Black & White option right below the printer name.
