My HP Officejet Pro 8600 is priniting any document from my new IMAC extremely slow. It just hesitates and prints a few lines at a time. Here's what I have tried: without any success:
1. multiple times to download the drivers however, i receive the error message ea time that says:
"The file “HP_Easy_Start.app.zip-8.download” doesn’t appear to be a valid download file."
2. unplugged power cable from the printer & wall & reconnected without any changes.
3. Powering down router, printer & computer then re-booting.
Appreciate any advice

It looks like you were interacting with @Raj1788, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.
Since the printer is not printing slow while copying a document, it could be an issue with the printer driver installed on your Mac. Removing the existing printer driver and the setting up the printer with Apple AirPrint may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure, you can download and install the latest firmware update from here.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print and scan.
Let me know how it goes!

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Are you facing the same issue while making a copy?
How is the printer connected? (Wireless or USB)
Are you facing this issue after an update?
In the meantime, let's update the printer firmware and Mac software using the below links:
Restart the printer and the MAC

Hello Raj1788 - thank u for your response. Here are the answers to your questions:
1. No
2. Wireless is how i started the connection and where the slow issue occurred. When i connect via USB, it's fine. Sometimes after I disconnect the USB cord and add the printer back in as wireless through the Systems Preference of IMAC, it will print a few documents without issue and then slow down again on next document.
3. MAC software is updated. I have been unable to update the printer firmware. Whenever i attempt to download the drivers for this HP Officejet pro 8600, it says there are no drivers. When i select "Change" it defaults to HP Easy Start for Mac OS10.14. Every attempt to download drivers for the latter results in error message " The file “HP_Easy_Start.app.zip-9.download” doesn’t appear to be a valid download file."

You are welcome 🙂 Glad to hear that the issue is resolved.
AirPrint is a feature in Apple Inc.'s macOS, the feature is integrated to mac OS. The HP Officejet Pro 8600 displayed below "Use"on the "Printers & Scanner" window is the printer driver released by HP.

Murphy's law! No sooner did is say everything was fine, the printer started printing very slowly again. I switched it to my HP Officejet pro 8720 and everything is fine. Any ideas what is going on with the 8600?
