@Prochem, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'd be happy to help you connect your HP printer to your new laptop. Here are the steps you can follow, depending on how you want to connect either wirelessly or via USB cable.
Option 1: Connect Wirelessly (Wi-Fi)
- Turn on your printer and make sure it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
- On your laptop, go to the HP Smart App download page and install the app.
- Open the HP Smart app and click “Set Up a New Printer.”
- The app will search for printers on your network. Select your printer when it appears.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
If your printer is not connected to Wi-Fi yet, use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer’s control panel:
- Go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Option 2: Connect via USB Cable
- Plug the USB cable from your printer into your laptop.
- Windows should automatically detect the printer and install the necessary drivers.
- If it doesn’t, download the full driver from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Follow the installation prompts to complete setup.
