After switching to BIg Sur on my Mac - my HP laserjet would not work.  I found out that Apple had left out the printer drivers and once I downloaded them all was fine. UNTIL TODAY. The MAC APP STORE sent me an update for my HP software. Now it won't recognize my HP LaserJet P1102. I have reverted to the old software, but alas, still not working.

PS The HP Deskjet 3755 is working fine with the update.

Good luck - and if you find a solution, please let me know. Thank you!

I'm glad I have Time Machine, I only had to go back one day to get rid of the HP update. All is well now. And it only took two hours of my life. I have decided as long as the HP printers are working NEVER to update again.

When I went to Big Sur -- it took three weeks to get my little laser printer working. Only to find out -- NOT FROM YOU -- but from Apple they hadn't given us new printer drivers. Once I had that, I was fine. Glad it was all in the memory banks!

Hi @JackieNY,

I'd like to help!

Try updating mac and printer firmware

To update the printer's firmware, refer - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

To update Mac, try these steps - How to update the software on your Mac

Uninstall the printer software -

1. Click Finder in the Dock.

2. In the menu bar, click Go, click Applications, and then open the HP or Hewlett Packard folder.

a) If HP Uninstaller is in the folder, double click it, and then follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.

b) If HP Uninstaller is not in the folder, continue to the next step.

3. Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.

4. In the menu bar, click Go, click Go to Folder, type /Library/Printers, then click Go.

The Printers folder opens.

5. Click and drag the HP or Hewlett Packard folder to the Trash icon in the Dock.

6. Restart the Mac.

7. Right-click or Ctrl + click the Trash icon, and then select Empty Trash.

Download HP Easy Start and install the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
