Hi @GJCOL,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing washed-out colors when printing with your HP Envy Inspire 7900e Printer, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and improve the print quality. Here's a checklist to help you address the issue.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that the color ink cartridges are properly installed.
- Check the ink levels to make sure they are not low or empty. Replace any low or empty cartridges.
Print Head Alignment:
- Perform a print head alignment to ensure that the nozzles are properly aligned. This process may vary depending on your printer model, so refer to the printer manual for instructions.
Color Settings:
- Check the color settings in your printer software. Make sure that you have selected the correct color profile and settings for the type of document you are printing.
Printer Software Settings:
- Open the printer software on your computer and check for any color adjustment settings. Make sure that the color settings match your paper type (e.g., HP Photo paper) and the type of document you're printing.
Paper Type and Quality:
- Ensure that you are using the correct type of paper (in this case, HP Photo paper) and that it is loaded correctly into the printer.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Check for updated printer drivers on the HP website. Sometimes, updating the printer drivers can resolve printing issues.
Color Calibration:
- Some printers have color calibration options. Check the printer manual or software for calibration settings and try calibrating the colors.
Test Print:
- Print a test page to check if the issue persists. Many printers have a built-in test page option that allows you to check the quality of each color.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can sometimes address performance issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
