Two months ago I purchased a used Deskjet 3722 from someone on Craigslist. I was able to set up everything with the printer fine and use it when I first got it. Two days ago, I went to use the printer and the web services button was flashing, the printer struggles to connect to the internet, and I can’t print anything. I’ve been googling info and uninstalling/reinstalling the printer. Plus I’ve tried resetting the printer and the lights are still flashing. I never enrolled in the instant ink service, but I think the previous owner did.instant ink service ran out three days ago, and I’m trying to set up my own account. My issues are: I don’t have a claim code, when I try to log into web services and retrieve a claim code, I’m unable to log in (even though I did when I first got the printer). So I’m locked out of the web services account, and my printer won’t print. Is there anyway to fix the problem or contact someone to gain access to web services? Or am I able to add the printer and set up it up so I can print?

Apologies!
I did send in the request for you.
The response may not be super fast, but we should hear back.
Shut off web services.
If there are Instant Ink cartridges in the printer, they are an indication the service was "left hanging".
Remove the Instant Ink cartridges (they say Instant Ink right on the cartridge).
Install the HP cartridges that you purchase.
See if you can print...
Regardless, of all, if / when the agent responds, tell him / her how you want to proceed and go from there.

A couple of ideas...
1) Instant Ink is not a mandatory service - the Instant Ink Print-by-Page subscription is just that, a subscription service.
If you do want to continue the service, we can get help to make that happen, including "undoing" any setup the previous left on the printer . We need an agent to help you banish the old owner's setup and add your subscription.
1A) If you decide that "for now" you are not sure about whether you want to subscribe, you still want to get the printer set up so it is clear of any previous owner's setup. We need an agent's help to do that.
What if?
2) If you just want to print sooner rather than later,
If you don't care about any "previous" setup or service, or all of that,
If you don't want to wait for an agent to help,
If the printer was indeed subscribed to Instant Ink,
If the owner did not cancel the service correctly,
If the Instant Ink cartridges are still in the printer,
These cartridges will have locked already or will do so very soon.
Why?
Instant Ink subscription includes ink at no extra charge to the plan while the subscription is active.
After the service is terminated for any reason (or by either owner or HP), the Instant Ink cartridges are supposed to be removed from the printer and returned to HP.
The "return" part aside, if there are Instant Ink cartridges in the printer, they have to be removed.
You will need to purchase ink so you can print.
Finally, switch OFF Web Services - even if you need to switch on Web Services later, it is just making things complicated right now.

I will ask that an agent review your request...

Thanks for the reply. How do I connect to an agent? The printer warranty expired, I’ve tried connecting online via chat but was brought to the community page instead, and I can’t find a phone number. I would like to just undo everything from the previous owner. I don’t really care to have instant ink either, I was only going to sign up because I thought it was needed. I’ll purchase more ink and give the printer a try.
