Hi - I have a LaserJet 283 fdw - printer is working fine locally over a hard wired ethernet connection. HP Smart sees it etc. I did have web services enabled and that is great product, but just recently its stopped working. Further investigation seems to indicate the printer can no longer reach the internet but it doesn't give very detailed error message. I did think maybe a firmware update? But that again needs internet connection to work and so Im stuck there also (HP Smart does not seem to show a firmware option per the description in the support website. Any ideas?

So - I saw a post about DNS related to another printer type. I set the DNS server to Google 8.8.8.8 and all my web services returned 🙂
It is a bit weird that it was working before using my routers DNS address but at least it is working.
