Need to know what WSP2-PSK means. My printer states “The WPA security pass phrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router setting.” It was printing fine until I returned from a trip, when the electricity went off and I had to reset my printer to print. i obviously “hit” way too many buttons in frustration! I am not longer able to print from my iPad because it states “no airprinter found”.

@Sharon0826, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding WPA2-PSK!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
What does WPA2-PSK mean?
WPA2-PSK stands for Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 - Pre-Shared Key. It is a security protocol used to protect wireless networks. It requires a passphrase or password to authenticate and secure Wi-Fi connections between the router and connected devices.
Resolving the WPA Security Passphrase Issue
Based on your printer's message: "The WPA security pass phrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router setting," it appears that the Wi-Fi password saved on your printer does not match the current password of your wireless network. This often happens if the router's configuration was changed, or if there was a reset.
Steps to resolve the issue:
Check and Verify Wi-Fi Password:
- Confirm the current Wi-Fi password of your router.
Reconfigure Your HP Printer's Wi-Fi Settings:
- For Touchscreen Printers:
- Open the printer's touch screen control panel.
- Go to Setup > Network > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the correct Wi-Fi password.
- For Non-Touchscreen Printers:
- Use the printer software installed on your computer.
- Open the software and look for Printer Settings > Wireless Setup.
- Follow the guided instructions to connect the printer to the Wi-Fi network by entering the correct WPA2-PSK passphrase.
Ensure Both Printer and Router Are Up-to-date:
- Make sure that both your printer’s firmware and the router’s firmware are updated to the latest version.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your printer, router, and iPad.
- Sometimes, simply restarting all devices can resolve connection issues.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
