My printer is not in list, tip pull down to update

Troubleshooting Steps:

Refresh the Printer List:

  • Try pulling down the list to refresh it. This action is supposed to update the list of available printers.

Check Network Connections:

  • Ensure that both your mobile device and the printer are connected to the same network.
  • Confirm that the printer is turned on and not in sleep mode. Press a button on the printer to wake it up.

Verify Wireless Connection:

  • Make sure the wireless light on the printer is steady or blinking, indicating a proper wireless connection.
  • For wired connections, ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router. The green light should be steady, and the orange light should blink.

Enable Wi-Fi Direct:

  • If you are using Wi-Fi Direct, make sure it is turned on and that your mobile device prompts for approval to connect to the printer.

Clear Print Spooler Cache:

  • On your Android device, go to Settings > Apps or Applications, tap the Menu icon, and select Show System Apps. Find the Print Spooler, tap on it, then tap Storage and clear both Cache and Data.

Manually Add Printer:

  • If the printer is still not listed, you can manually add it using its IP address.
    1. Get the printer IP address from the printer control panel or by printing an information page.
    2. Open the Mopria Print Service app on your mobile device.
    3. Tap the Plus sign, enter the printer name and IP address, and then tap OK.
