When I try to install the HP Smart printing app, it is always stuck on the screen that says: "Checking system requirements..."

It was installed before and worked fine, but then my printer drivers got uninstalled somehow, and the printer would not appear in the list of printers.  So I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling, and now when I try the reinstall, it stays stuck on that screen.

This is a very irritating waste of my time.

I need to print documents and had to go to the library and pay for prints.  It is still not installed.

@JA242, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Smart!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with the reinstallation of the HP Smart app, specifically at the "Checking system requirements" stage. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

Check Internet Connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection. The HP Smart app requires internet access to verify system requirements and download necessary components.

Restart Your Device: Sometimes, a simple restart can help clear up any temporary issues with your system.

Clear Cache and Temporary Files: Clear any temporary files and cache on your device that might be causing the installation to hang. You can do this using disk cleanup tools available on your computer.

Update Your Operating System: Make sure your operating system is up to date, as outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

Install Latest Printer Drivers: Since you mentioned that the printer drivers were uninstalled, ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer model. You can download them from the HP website.

Disable Firewall and Antivirus: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software that may be blocking the installation process.

Try a Different Installation Method: If you are using an installer file downloaded from the internet, try accessing the Microsoft Store or the App Store (for macOS devices) to download the HP Smart app.

Uninstall and Reinstall the App: Make sure the app is completely uninstalled before attempting a fresh install.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
