I print a lot of architectural drawings, when I do, the horizontal lines ALWAYS come out as a series of tiny hatched diagonal lines rather than a solid one. I have done all of the printer tests and everything is normal, I have also played around with all of the settings when printing, nothing works. PLEASE HELP!! I have attached a drawing to show

You didn't specify the printer model, you will hardly get any help with no information about your printer.

In case you have an HP Officejet 7720, 7730, or 7740 printing on A3 then you have a driver related issues

Hi Yes I have a 7740 wide format A3 printer. I have already updated all the drivers and reinstalled all the software a number of times.

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

One thing to add, then "gone"!

Excellent - you do need the Full Feature Software installed for this task.

When installed, the software will be listed in Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

Example - Windows - Full Feature Software  - Installed

Check the Printer Properties are correctly selecting the HP Driver.

Windows 11

Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Select Printer >

Printer Properties > Tab Advanced

Top section

Driver:  Check that the HP driver is selected as opposed to the Microsoft / IPP class driver
