Hello - I have an Acer Chromebook CB5-311 (T9Y2). And I think the o/s version is correct as noted above.
I have an HP Photosmart 6520 Printer connected (wireless). I want to scan to my computer but I cannot find the software (?) on my chromebook where I can change the settings.
From my researching, it looks like I need to go there and "enable" "scan to computer".
ALSO, I'd like to create a shortcut to my printer, (when I find it, lol). TIA for your help.

Hi,
Chromebooks are not provided with any software, you may use eithhr Scan to Email or Webscan.
To Scan to Email follow the steps below to scan from your printer front panel (see 'Scan directly to email (wireless Internet connections only)'):
Note: for Scan to Email to work you must have the latest firmware installed on your printer, the latest firmware can be installed from a Windows PC only:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/ps6520/PS6520_R1606A.exe
Another option would be Webscan:
- Tap the WiFi icon on the printer and locate its IP Address.
- Browse this IP from Google Chrome.
- Open the Scan tab and follow the steps on screen.
If the Webscan feature is disabled press the Settings tab, select Administrator Settings and enable Webscan.

Thank you for this information. I have been using the "scan to email" all along but it takes so long. Is that normal or is there a problem somewhere in my system?
Also, as you know, this method requires one to then download and save it from the email. Just seems like a lot of work.
Isn't there any kind of app to bridge this gap? (Like my rhyme?). I thought that I saw something like this when I was looking for an answer before I posted this message.
How about the shortcut, is that a possibility with the Chromebook?
Thanks
