I am trying to print a photo onto A4 landscape and it always has a wide white border down the right hand edge. I have tried borderless/bordered; center on page, fit to page, top left. Using HP Premium Plus Photo paper. I have wasted so much paper and ink trying to sort this. Any ideas?

Hi @tcardinal1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure that the printer settings are correctly configured for borderless printing:

  • Open the HP Smart app or the HP Printer Assistant.
  • Navigate to Print Settings.
  • Select the photo you want to print.
  • Ensure Borderless is selected under the print options.
  • Make sure the paper size is set to A4.

Print from Different Software

Sometimes the issue might be with specific software:

  • Try printing from a different software application like Paint, Photoshop, or directly from the HP Smart app.

Update Printer Drivers

Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed:

  • Download and use the HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
  • Install any available updates for your HP ENVY 6430e printer.

Fit to Page Settings

Ensure the photo is properly fit to the page:

  • In the print dialog, check the Fit to Page option.
  • Ensure it scales the image to fit the selected paper size.

Check Paper Alignment

Ensure that the photo paper is correctly loaded in the printer:

  • Load the HP Premium Plus Photo paper into the printer tray.
  • Make sure the paper guides are adjusted correctly to fit A4 landscape orientation without shifting.

Printer Calibration

Calibrate the printer to ensure it prints accurately:

  • Open HP Smart or the HP Printer Assistant.
  • Navigate to Tools or Maintenance.
  • Select Calibrate Printer or Print Quality Diagnostic tools.

Reset Printer

Sometimes a reset helps resolve issues:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.
